 Summary [...] We hope we have shown the most eye-catching points of this layout-solution, and also outlined some limitations and advantages compared to the industry-giants. And indeed, it is more than a miracle that a program, which only costs a fraction of the industry leaders QuarkXPress, can easily compare with them even in professional use. This is not just a theoretic claim, but has been proven in daily use. As mentioned our published products (st-computer) and partly the (AMIGAplus) are created using PageStrean. The clear, and well thought out user interface and the high speed makes this program the favourite for some of our layouters in the pre-process. Regarding the first point PageStream overshadows QuarkXPress, regarding the second point Adobe InDesign. Both are taught a lesson regarding the price.
[...] Nevertheless PageStream is fully convincing in version 4. It can be seen as a third professional DTP-solution on the MAC, next to XPress and InDesign. Contrary to the industry giants, it manages the twofold between professional and hobbyist, thanks to the attractive price. But also the seasoned XPress-professional should consider at this price point, to install PageStream as an alternative platform.
