The PowerPC Assembler
StormPowerASM is a PowerPC assembler development system for Amiga computers. It supports the entire PowerPC-command set and on top of that offers several hundred extended mnemonics that make programming easier and greatly increase the readability of the source code. Its outstanding macro-abilities and the support of floating-point expressions and -operators prove the high level of this new PowerPC programming system.

PowerASM is completely integrated into the well-known Storm development system. It can be used in combination with e.g. StormC or as a stand-alone Assembler for PowerPC.

Some of the most important features include:

  • Support for the entire PowerPC instruction set
  • Support for some hundred extended mnemonics which simplify the development process and increase source readability
  • Support for all common Assembler directives
  • powerful macro facilities
  • ARexx support
  • Support for floating-point expressions and operators
  • Extremely detailed error output which makes it easy to locate errors
  • An integrated linker, which can link object files already at assembly time and directly create executable files.

The documentation describes programming the PowerPC. A list of all macros and directives (featuring extensive descriptions) is also part of the documentation, as well as detailed information on our hardware-layer.
